Domaine David Duband
The quiet elegance of Burgundy, between Chambolle and Vosne.
Estate websiteOur story.
- Certified organic farming
- Whole-cluster vinifications
- Long ageing in oak, share of new barrels tuned cuvée by cuvée
Based in Chevannes, in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, David Duband took over the family estate in 1991 and turned it into one of the most sought-after signatures of the new Burgundy.
The estate now covers nearly 17 hectares, with plots in the finest terroirs of the Côte de Nuits: Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges (Aux Thorey, Les Procès, Les Pruliers), Clos Vougeot Grand Cru and of course the Hautes-Côtes.
The viticulture is organic, harvests are manual, grapes are fully destemmed or vinified whole-cluster depending on the vintage, and the long ageing in oak barrels uses a share of new wood calibrated cuvée by cuvée.
The result is Pinot Noirs of high precision: silky, transparent, of a rarely-seen drinkability for the region, while retaining the depth of the grands crus.
